Had she made mistakes that led her to to a point where she could get hurt? Yes, Francis believed that she had. But that didn't make it all her fault. She had been young and impulsive and rash, yes. But that's what mentors were for, to help and guide, and to rein in and even stop you when needed. But hers had enabled her to run ahead into places she hadn't been ready for.
